We believe every child should develop a deep love for reading, writing and speaking. Our goal is to give all children the chance to explore the magical worlds that books open up, fostering an appreciation for the richness and diversity of our literary heritage.
By encouraging children to read widely and regularly, we aim to support their cultural, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual growth. Reading is the golden thread that ties our curriculum together and we are dedicated to helping children become confident, fluent readers who carry a lifelong passion for books.
Through reading, children not only gain knowledge but also build on what they already know, empowering them to grow as learners. We also aim to boost their confidence in speaking and listening, encouraging meaningful discussions to deepen their understanding and enrich their educational journey.

We provide our pupils with an enriched scientific education, which provides the strong foundations for understanding the world through Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Science has positively impacted our lives and is vital to the world’s future prosperity. With this in mind, it is essential that our pupils leave Waddington All Saints equipped with the essential aspects of knowledge, processes and uses as well as the methods and skills to learn and think as a scientist. Our Science curriculum builds upon key knowledge and concepts to equip our pupils to understand the importance of rational explanation, whilst nurturing their inquisitive nature about natural phenomena. We want pupils to appreciate the way in which science affects their lives and the lives of others and to recognise how it impacts on the environment and society. Through this, our pupils are able to make connections to how science can be used to explain the world around them, make predictions and analyse causes.

We provide an inspiring, high-quality geography education that allows our pupils to question the world around them and explore their place within it. As engaged geographers, our pupils make links beyond their own experiences to the wider world and develop a breadth of understanding of key geographical concepts. These concepts are broadly grouped through locational knowledge, place knowledge, understanding of physical and human geography and developing geographical skills and fieldwork.

We believe that history is the exploration and discovery of stories about people, places and events that have shaped the world we live in today.
The world around us today is a reflection of the past. Our history curriculum offers an engaging journey through Britain’s fascinating history, as well as exploring and uncovering significant events and cultures from around the world.
We thrive to ignite curiosity, exploration and enthusiasm, whilst developing critical minds, as we empower our pupils to ask meaningful questions, think critically and evaluate evidence and different perspectives.

We aim to provide a high-quality physical education curriculum which inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness and embeds physical activity as part of their everyday life.
Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect. We encourage pupils to have a love and passion for physical activity through the range of sporting activities that we provide.

At Waddington All Saints we truly believe that ‘every child is an artist’- Pablo Picasso.
Our pupils are immersed into the awe-inspiring world of art. We recognise that Art and Design stimulates creativity and imagination and provides visual, tactile and sensory experiences to understand and respond to the world.
We believe that every child is an artist, and we encourage our pupils to understand that creativity has no limits, that personal responses are valued, and that art and design empowers us to create freely without fear of making mistakes. Our broad and rich art and design education engages, inspires and challenges our pupils whilst equipping them with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works. It enables children of all abilities to communicate what they see, feel and think through colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes. Our pupils take a journey through a progression of art skills and knowledge, whilst developing critical thinking skills that are transferrable to enhance the development of the whole child.
The appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts enriches all our lives. The intent of our art and design education is to provide the tools and opportunities for our pupils to understand how art and design reflects our history and shapes our future.

We believe that all pupils have the right to receive a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, which enables them to develop an understanding of the impact of design and technological advances upon our world. To support us in delivering this vision, we have planned a high quality Design & Technology curriculum that is inspiring, rigorous and practical.
Learning opportunities are coherently planned and sequenced, through ‘real-life’ projects and pupils are actively taught to apply vocabulary accurately. This approach enables pupils to develop and build upon the key knowledge and skills, that enable them to work as experts and be effectively prepared to thrive in tomorrow’s rapidly changing world.
Cooking and nutrition are also a key component of our design and technology curriculum. The children learn how to prepare and cook food, alongside the requirements of a healthy and varied diet and where our food comes from.

Learning a foreign language is part of the primary National Curriculum and is a requirement for all children within key stage 2 (KS2). We have adopted a whole school approach to the teaching of French to all KS2 pupils. Our aim is to develop the confidence and competence of each child in the foreign language they are learning.
Our goal is for them to be passionate, curious and confident about their own foreign language learning abilities when they finish the primary school phase of their education. We will help them develop and demonstrate substantial progress in the 5 key language skills necessary for learning French: speaking; listening; reading; writing and grammar.

Through our curriculum design, we intend to give all children the opportunity to engage in performances, compose and create, listen and appraise, whilst connecting with the wider world, understanding the significance of music in different cultures.
