This term we will be focusing on the topic ‘Bomber County’, which encompasses the role of Lincolnshire during WW2. Additionally, we will be focusing on the class texts, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas and The Letters from the Lighthouse, which will inspire our writing and love of reading. Additionally, we will explore poetic devices to create powerful poetry, use emotive vocabulary to create diary entries and write informative explanation texts to commemorate the people of WW2.
In Maths, we will work hard to consolidate our recall of multiplication and division facts and secure our understanding of number. We will apply our understanding to solve problems from a range of contexts and strengthen are skill of reasoning.
This term, we will also take part in an amazing residential trip to PGL which will encompass the development of teambuilding and communication skills. This will be a fantastic opportunity for building resilience and empowering ourselves to set goals.
Throughout the term, we will be reading: “The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas” by John Boyne and “Letters from the Lighthouse” by Emma Carroll.
